What are plummer blocks?

A plummer block also called a pillow block for lightweight applications, is a type of industrial pedestal that supports a shaft with compatible bearings of various kinds.

Plummer blocks come in various shapes and sizes, but all support the same application. The assembly comprises a diecast mounting block or flange that houses a bearing fitted to a shaft.

Flanged housing

Take-up housing
